INTRODUCING OUR

FIRST FILM FESTIVAL

NEW FOR
2025

2025 marks our first year hosting the Blood Over Texas Film Fest. We hope that it brings our guests the ultimate horror experience at the expo and we can't wait to see what horror awaits. Expect to see some killer horror short films throughout the weekend and see the results of the epic "Christmas Carnage 48 hour Film Challenge" where teams have 48 hours to create a Christmas-themed horror short. If you've never seen one of these competitions before, a 48 hour film challenge is exhilarating to watch.

WHAT IS A 48 HOUR FILM CHALLENGE?

It's an exhilarating competition where filmmakers put a team together to make a horror short in only 48 hours! The teams meet at a Sign Up Event to get their challenges. Each team will have certain challenges that must be in the film. For instance, a line to say and a prop to use. Once they find out the challenges, the clock starts and the teams start to make their short. Over 48 hours the team will write, film and finish their film for submission.

Once the films have been submitted, our Judges will get to work to decide the winning film.
